SALAD DAYS

Well, it's that time of year: Stuart's just begun planting out rows of lettuce and beetroot down at the allotment, and I've been popping tomato and chili plants into the propagator at home, and potting up herbs for the little, sun-trap herb garden outside our kitchen.  And all this has put me in mind of (hopefully - if the South East England drought eases up) bumper crops of veg and fruit and cut flowers to come.  And - yes, I am jumping the gun a bit! - what to do with said veg and fruit and flowers when we do get them home, and how to display them...  And finally (!) my thoughts have turned to old and characterful bowls, panniers, display dishes, vases in general.

Here are a few pics of useful vessels to get you in the mood, too...

Well, I've my sweetpeas to plant out (seeds pre-soaked, of course)...  So,

A bientôt!
